Victory in Jesus – Sowing Sermon Seeds

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1John 5:4
We have an awesome victory in Jesus Christ. The presence of the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in human beings that have been born again. This works through the faith that is planted as a seed in our innermost being.
The Apostle John wrote concerning the basis of our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus Christ came in the flesh and laid down His life as a substitute for us for forgiveness of sin. We will realize the completion of His work in us at His coming:
“When he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2
Just knowing this Biblical truth is a foundation that strengthens our faith and gives us hope as we serve the Lord. There are other precious promises:

EAT OF THE TREE OF LIFE

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7

WILL NOT BE HURT OF THE SECOND DEATH

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” Revelation 2:11

Power over the Nations

“And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.” Revelation 2:26

Given a New Name

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” Revelation 2:17

Clothed in White Raiment

“He that overcometh, and same shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.” Revelation 3:5

Pillar in the Temple of God

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Revelation 3:12

Sit with the Lord on His Throne

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” Revelation 3:21
Inherit all things
“He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” Revelation 21:7

Conclusion

We have these precious promises that the Apostle John spoke of. We can speak these out loud or meditate on them in our heart, soul, and spirit. We can overcome the world because Jesus said: “be of good cheer because I have overcome the world.” The Bible says we must: “occupy till He comes.” Luke 19:3

The Discerning of Spirits is one of the most needed spiritual gifts in the Body of Christ. This gift allows a Born again believer to see what spirit is operating at any given spiritual situation. This gift does not perform when a believer wills. However, this is a gift directed by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Four Spirits that are Discerned. Human Spirit, Spirit of God, Demonic Spirits and Angels

1 Corinthians 12:7-12: 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another Discerning of Spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Notice vs 11 says dividing severally as HE wills. We cannot say ” I have the gift of Discerning of Spirits” This statement indicates ownership which is contrary to the scripture.

Psalm 3-Put Your Trust in the Lord

As Christians, we must believe and know that the Lord is our present help in time of trouble. Jesus Christ is our present help! Sometimes, we are chastened by the Lord because of our sins and rebellion. This psalm of David shows that God permitted this turmoil in David’s life due to his apostasy of murder and adultery. The Bible declares that David confessed his sins and was forgiven by God but reaped the consequences and bitterness of his sins.

Including:
•Death of the son that was born from his adultery
•The rape of his daughter
•The slaying of his sons Adonijah, Ammon, and Absalom

David put his trust strong in the Lord during these times. David knew that God was his shield. Even though David brought a lot of his troubles, he continuously sought the Lord. The treachery of his son Absalom haunted David. Even in the midst of all of David’s problems, he knew that the Lord would lift his head.

We must take a lesson from David to know that in times like these we must lift our eyes in prayer. In Psalms 3:4, David cried unto the Lord with his voice and was heard from by the Lord of heaven.

Steps to Deliverance

  • Confess sin and make sure that you are a Born Again Saved Christian.
  • Ask the Lord to fill you with the Holy Spirit.
  • Repent of and renounce all evil, including but not limited to: Witchcraft, occult bondage, ungodly soul ties and others that the Lord shows you.
  • Repent of them even to the tenth generation of your ancestors also (Psalms 139: 21-22).
  • Make sure that you forgive others.
  • Be honest with yourself and the Deliverance minister (Psalms 51).
  • Cast demons out and Learn and practice your authority in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Let Jesus be the Lord of your life in every area and yield yourself to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Baptism) and the Word of God (Eph 5:18).
  • Devour the Word of God.
  • If available play the Word of God (audio) over your house 24 hours and seven days of the week will help tremendously.
  • Practice putting on the Armour of God found in Ephesians 6 and practice Binding and Loosing when you feel attack.
  • Call the Deliverance Minister that was in charge of your deliverance if you feel you are overcome by evil spirits.
  • Avoid sin at all costs and cultivate Christian fellowship with the people that understand what you went through in deliverance.
  • This would include the Minister that delivered you in the name of Jesus.
